Working together
Will the edit really match my style?
That's the entire service. Before your first project we review your past films, references, presets, and music taste. Your dedicated editor, the same person on every project, keeps a living style profile for your studio. By film three, most clients say they can't tell our edits from their own.
Do I get the same editor every time?
Yes. This is the main difference between Luminary and platform services. You're matched with one of our six senior editors, and your projects go to them, season after season.
I'm a newer filmmaker. Will you work with me?
Absolutely. Some of our favorite clients sent us their very first wedding. Feedback comes judgment-free, and we'll happily explain why we made each editing choice so you grow with us.
Can you handle my busy-season volume?
Tell us your season calendar in advance and we'll reserve capacity. Because we're deliberately small, we don't take more than we can edit well, which is exactly why the deadlines hold.
The practical stuff
How fast is turnaround?
Highlight films typically deliver in around 12 days. Feature films, documentaries, and complex multicam projects are quoted per project; you'll have a specific date in writing before any footage moves. We'd rather promise a real date and hit it than advertise a fantasy number.
How many revisions are included?
Every project includes one full round of revisions, delivered via timestamped comments. Additional rounds are available at a straightforward rate per project. Our upfront consultation and free sample cut mean most films land in one pass.
How do I send footage?
Dropbox, Google Drive, or WeTransfer work well for most projects. Prefer to ship a hard drive? That works too. No cloud storage of your own? We'll give you access to ours while your project is in progress.
What software do you edit in?
Adobe Premiere Pro, exclusively. We work in the same NLE as most professional wedding studios, so if you ever want the project file back, it opens cleanly in your setup.
Do you deliver the project file?
Yes. If you'd like the Premiere Pro project file alongside your finished film, just ask. We include it.
Who provides the music?
You do. Send the tracks with your footage. If you need help with licensing, we'll point you toward the right services, but we work with whatever tracks you've already cleared for your clients.
What formats do I get back?
Anything you need: delivery formats, resolutions, and social crops, named and packaged for your brand.
What's your average response time?
0 to 4 hours, consistently. During peak season too.
Trust & confidentiality
Will my clients know I outsource?
No. Delivery is 100% white-label. Our name appears nowhere in files, metadata, or correspondence. Many of our longest-running clients' couples have been thanking their editor for years without knowing we exist.
Will you sign an NDA?
Yes, gladly. We can work under your NDA or provide a standard agreement.
Who owns the footage and the final film?
You do. Always. We need permission to edit it, nothing more. We never showcase your work in our portfolio without written approval.
What happens to my footage after delivery?
It's retained for a window after delivery to cover revisions, then permanently deleted. Keep your own backups regardless; we'll remind you.
Getting started
What does it cost?
Every studio's films, lengths, and volumes are different, so we quote per project after a short conversation: in writing, before any footage moves, with no surprises after. The fastest way to a number is the test edit form.
What's the test edit?
A real conversation about your style, then a free sample cut of the opening minutes of your highlight film. If you love it, we finish the full film and you pay after approving a watermarked version. If you don't, you walk away owing nothing. It's how almost every client relationship we have started.
How long have your clients been working with you?
Our longest client relationships have run for four to eight years. When the work is right, people don't leave.
A question we didn't answer?
Ask it on the test edit form, or just email us. A real editor replies within hours, not days.
